The Buc Days Port of Corpus Christi Leadership Program continues to be a premiere preparatory resource for high school seniors in the Coastal Bend. High school seniors are invited to apply to participate in the Buc Days Port of Corpus Christi Leadership Program which consists of Dale Carnegie Training focused on developing personal relationships and public speaking. The program also consists of community service, awareness trips and a mentoring experience. Each scholar will be matched to a Buccaneer Commission volunteer based upon the student’s career interest.
Seniors will be selected for the program based on academic standing, extracurricular and community activities, and an interview and essay competition. Additional points will be awarded to first-generation students.
A total of $80,000 in scholarships will be awarded to the 20 scholars at the conclusion of the program. Each student will receive a minimum of $3,500, and the top male and female scholars with the highest overall scores in Program Participation, Engagement and Final Project Presentation will receive an additional $4,000 scholarship.
