The Buccaneer Commission is proud to introduce the 1st annual Buc Days Canstruction Junior Competition on May 4th, 2024!
Students and youth groups from all around the Coastal Bend will use STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) to create innovative can art structures using unopened cans of food.
Participants bring the whole community together by collecting canned goods through school can drives, community outreach events, and more. The participants can use anything from canned tuna to green beans to canned pet food!
On Saturday, May 4th, each team of five will build their structures in the American Bank Center Plaza for festival goers to admire. At the completion of the festival, the cans will be collected and donated to the Coastal Bend Food Bank and the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
