Connecting Youth to Agriculture!

The Buccaneer Commission is proud to continue the second annual Buc Days Ag & Industry Awareness Days presented by ExxonMobil Foundation in conjunction with Nueces County Extension Agency. This three-day event will take place May 5th through May 7th and will teach over 1,500 third graders from all around the Coastal Bend about agriculture and various industry jobs.

About the event:

This hands-on educational approach brings the world of agriculture, animal production, and food production to kids. They are separated into groups within their schools and will move station to station, each highlighting a different topic relating to industry or agriculture.

Alongside all of the educational stations, the students will be able to watch the Racing Pigs presented by Chick-fil-A, enjoy an interactive petting zoo, and much more! Below are some examples of the different stations that the students will participating in:

  • Gulf Coast Growth Ventures Plastics Production
  • Cotton & Farming
  • Texas Parks & Wildlife / Game Warden
  • Dairy Max

Kids will leave this event with a better understanding of agriculture and the industries in the Coastal Bend!
