Buc Days VEX IQ Competition (Grades K – 5)
The Buccaneer Commission brought VEX Robotics to Corpus Christi. The Buc Days VEX IQ Competition presented by Valero was an opportunity for elementary school students to use their STEM and robotics skills to solve challenges and win big. Prizes were awarded directly to the winning teams.
About VEX IQ Competition (VIQC)
This competition engages students with snap-together robots, graphical programming, and collaborative challenges. Texas leads the nation with over 1,100 VIQC teams.
VEX IQ builds spatial reasoning, persistence, and confidence while improving math/science proficiency and school attendance. This competition creates a strong feeder pipeline into middle and high school robotics, allowing Buc Days to inspire its youngest participants with age-appropriate, high-energy competition, and pirate-themed recognition that sparks lifelong themed interest.
