The Buc Days Public Speaking Contest invites students from all backgrounds to showcase their speaking skills and creativity. This second annual event will offer participants the chance to engage with their community while competing for prestigious awards and recognition. Whether you’re a seasoned speaker or new to the stage, this contest is an excellent opportunity to develop confidence, improve communication skills, and make your voice heard. Join us as we celebrate the power of words and inspire the next generation of leaders and thinkers!

This event is open to students in a 4-H, FFA, or FCLA club with divisions for kids’ 3rd grade and up. Students can choose to perform a speech in categories from Animal or Plant science, Natural Resources, Agriculture Policy or Coastal Bend Industry.

Mandatory registration fee of $30 for this competition. Junior Division- 8 years of age (in addition to being in the 3rd grade) and not over 14 years of age as of August 15th, 2025. Senior Division- 14 years of age (in addition to being in the 9th grade) and not over 18 years of age as of August 15th, 2025.
