Illuminated Night Parrrade presented by Daisy Charters & Shuttles

Saturday, May 1, 2010, 8:00 p.m.

Theme: Arrr You Ready?

Ready to embrace your inner-Pirate? This is the year to do so!

Pirate Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates plundered and pilfered trading ships plying the waters of the Gulf of Mexico back in the early 1800s. But then, during the War of 1812 Pirate Jean Lafitte and his men aided General Jackson's troops in the Battle of New Orleans. Because of that aid, President James Madison gave Lafitte a full pardon for his crimes of piracy. Then in 1821, following this presidential pardon, Pirate Lafitte moved his pirate band to Texas and established headquarters on the present site of Corpus Christi.

The first Buc Days festival in 1938 embraced that heritage and we will continue to do so in 2010! So join us and the over 160,000 spectators drawn to this event and enjoy seeing the beautify illuminated floats, the bands and other wonderful paarrrticipants!
